How To Live Like A Billionaire
Living in a nice home, driving a car that gets us from A
to B, taking a 2 week vacation are just a few of the things
that fulfill our wealth dreams.
The size of our bank account is one of the main factors to
make our wealth dreams come true. However, what would you
do differently if you had so much money in your bank account
that you wouldn't be able to spend it in your life time even
if you tried! Can you imagine having the ability to purchase
almost anything for sale in this world?
In Pictures: How To Live Like A Billionaire
Larry Ellison the CEO of Oracle has a massive estate in Woodside
California worth $100 MILLION! The asian themed architecture
is comprised of rare Japenese furnishings. He also has another
seven buildings on the propery along his man-made lake!
Bill Gates the Founder of Microsoft built himself a 66,000
square-foot estate near his hometown of Seattle on Lake Washington.
Even his 60 foot swimming pool has an underwater music system!
While his dining room alone (1000sqft) is the size of a some
people's homes!
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
When "WANTS" become "NEEDS" the cost does
not become a part of the equation for billionaires. Everyone
wants what they can't have and this is why millions are paid
to purchase rare cars. Billionaires think alike and turn the
impossible into the possible! This is why cars that are "impossible"
to get are what many billionaires desire! For example, McLaren
produced only 64 F1supercars that were build from 1994 to
1998 and they are selling with a pricetag of approximately
$1.5 million. Approximately 10 are in the United States and
Ralph Lauren has two of them. Rolls-Royce will be delivering
the Phantom Drophead convertible later this fall of 2007 and
even if you had the money to pay for one, you wouldn't be
able to get one. This particular model was actually sold out
2 years ago. However, perhaps you can pay a large sum of money
for a place in line with the billionaires if you REALLY need
this car.
$500,000 seems like chump change when billionaires buy these
exclusive cars.
AIR TRANSPORT
Many Billionaires own their own private jets to get from A
to B ASAP. Time is of the essence, however it comes with a
price. The costs of maintaining a jet are enormous when you
factor in the maintanence fees, depreciation of the jet, insurance,
hanger, permits, gas, pilot salaries.
Even Warren Buffet who is known to be a frugal billionaire
who has dwelled in the same little home for almost 50 years
bought himself a Gulfstream IV. He heavily invests in a company
called NetJets.com (A Subsidiary Of Berkshire Hathaway) which
provides fractional ownership of jets for many celebrities
and multimillionaires. This is a much more cost efficient
method to owning a jet because you end up paying closer to
what you actually use.
WATER TRANSPORT
Another popular method of transport for many billionaires
is via water
..using MEGAYACHTS!
Paul Allen the co-founder of Microsoft owns a megayacht named
The Octopus. This titanic ship has a value of over $200 million
and has a 60 man full time crew, several boats/sailing vellels,
attached to it, a 10-person submarine, and multiple helicopter
landings.
TRANSPORTATION DESTINATION
Your probably wondering where they billionaires travel to
in these megayachts and private jets. Many actually travel
to their own private islands!
Richard Branson of Virgin bough a 74-acre Necker Island (Near
The British Virgin Islands) in 1982 and built an exclusive
30 guest resort. The price tag per person per night is almost
$2000!!!!
However, the main reason billionaires purchase their own private
islands is to use it themselves. It offers an exclusive escape
from the paparazzi and publicity.
BILLIONAIRE PLASTIC
Many billionaires have an exclusive credit card available
by invitation only from American Express called the "Black
AMEX". (The American Express Centurion Card) Monica Beaupre
from American Express states that it's not a mainstream product
and that they preserve this offer exclusively for special
clientele. She quotes "It's designed for our most wealthy
customers who travel frequently, who want and need high levels
of personalized service" American Express is very tightlipped
about the rewards and statistics of this card, but we can
imagine that the owners of this card are getting a lot more
than some air miles and free car rentals.
BILLIONAIRE TIME
For many billionaires time is not money; time is their LIFE.
To save time, many billionaires hire staff to complete the
duties that can be completed by others. This includes their
own personal assistants to do tedious jobs, errands and everyday
chores. The assistants are responsible for things like taking
phone calls, scheduling meetings and travel. In terms of food,
private chefs are often hired including a traveling chef who
takes care of the dietary requirements on the go. Another
requirement for having these private chefs is due to the fact
that there are many staff and other employees that need to
be fed. Time is saved by hiring staff for almost all duties
including gardeners, janitors/maids, handy men, butlers, etc.
